Makron systems are configured to have top mounted actuator and a T-slot bed instead of a bottom cross head. These are useful over the range 25 to 50 kN without any additional cooling. The single foot print assembly, similar to the Nano, has a digital controller and a hydraulic power pack within the enclosure. These systems provide flexibility for conducting both static and dynamic tests; also possible are testing in both static / recirculating liquid media.
Makron systems are especially suitable for elastomer testing at high frequencies, and in bio-medical applications such as testing of implants, prosthetics and tissue engineering applications.
Elastomer properties are determined through controlled excitation on a test system with small amplitudes between 0.01 and 1mm at various frequencies right up to several hundred Hz. The critical requirement of such testing is the ability to accurately and synchronously measure force and elastomer displacement over such a wide range of frequency.
